The United Kingdom general election of 2015 was held on 7 May 2015 to elect the 56th Parliament of the United Kingdom. Voting took place in all 650 parliamentary constituencies of the United Kingdom, each electing one Member of Parliament to seats in the House of Commons, the lower house of Parliament. In addition to the general election, local elections took place in most of England, with the exception of Greater Manchester.
The election was overshadowed by the expected domination of the Liberty Party, opinions polls expecting them to finish off with between 380 and 520 seats. The election saw several election records broken most of which were from the Liberty Party, they were the first ever party to ever win and gain over 500 seats in a single election. The extreme losses of the Conservatives and Labour marked the first time two parties had lost over 200 seats in a single election and the Conservatives lost a record 252 seats. More incredibly the Liberty party who won the election with 511 seats only won 2 back in 2010.
